Kosebasi on Food & Wine Magazine’s Go List 2008
The first kebab house in Istanbul to serve traditional eastern-Turkish skewers in chic surroundings, Kösebasi is now a successful chain. But the original villa location, in the Levent area, is still the favorite for its garden and its grilled dishes that come with all the requisite trimmings, like herbed tomato salad with pomegranate and the addictive findik lahmacun (lamb-topped mini pizzas). Since 1995, Kosebasi is the only restaurant chain that is true to the traditional recipes of South Anatolia . Kosebasi has managed to capture this traditional taste and is committed to continue to offer not only a cultural event but also an introduction to Anatolian lifestyle.

Kosebasi was voted as one of the "World's 50 Best Restaurants” by the 14,000 members of Conde Nast Traveler magazine and was awarded with International Tourism, Hotel and Catering Industries Prize as “the best representative of the traditional Turkish cuisine.” Kosebasi was also cited as “the best kebab restaurant in Istanbul” by Time magazine.

Kosebasi's global fame has received numerous bookings from all over the world and continues to attract many celebrities including Jack Nicholson, Chelsea Clinton, Warren Beatty, Sting, Tim Zagat and Donna Karan.

In Istanbul, the authentic Kosebasi experience can be encountered in Levent, Fenerbahce, Nisantasi, Beylikduzu and Reina. Outside of Istanbul, Kosebasi can be found in Ankara and Izmir. Kosebasi also delivers its world famous traditional taste in a fast food concept via its Maslak, Atasehir, Kavacık and Cepa Kosebasi Express branches.

In 2006, Kosebasi started an era of international expansion and opened its Athens branch. This expansion continues with the opening of Kosebasi Sao Paulo in 2007.
